Effective communication involves more than just hearing or reading a message. This infographic is designed to illustrate the cycle of effective communication. The message that is sent must be decoded by the receiver. In order for effective communication to take place, the message must be interpreted as the sender intended it. The interpretation is based on the receiver’s education, experience, language, culture. The receiver will respond with feedback based on his/her interpretation. Based on the feedback, the sender will determine whether effective communication has taken place. If it hasn’t, then the sender will begin the cycle again with necessary changes to the message.
