25 Test Taking tips

Interactive Engagement Strategies (approx. 20 min):

Video (approx. 10 minutes with discussion): After I complete the lecture  I give students a handout that has 25 questions with the meaning or stem of each term.

First: I instruct students to listen to the next video and answer questions as quickly as possible. Since they already had the stems of each question, they can choose the answers: (a…d) and write a short  answer that identifies the answer; ex. a) put a ? for any unknown answers.

Infographic:(approx. 45 minutes with discussion): We’ll discuss D.R.O.P. and the importance of properly preparing for test taking, i.e., arriving early for any changes or corrections from instructor, reading directions twice, and not leaving any blanks.

Learning Evaluation: Students must submit the completed handout to be graded for this days activity.  I check that they have  answered all questions and that they have written the correct explanation of the questions.
