TITLE: Thinking about children’s thinking, the mind of Jean Piaget
CLASS: DEP 2004, Developmental Psychology
INTRODUCTION: Although not difficult, sometimes the terms and concepts of Jean Piaget do seem like a foreign language to students. I wanted some graphics and simple video to help students understand and perhaps enjoy learning about children’s thinking as described by Piaget. It is my hope that once introduced to these concepts and Piaget’s way of thinking about children’s thinking, students will view children differently and appreciate how their own cognitive development has taken place over time.
VIDEO: Brief clips on the four stages of cognitive development according to Piaget, including captioning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yxo8zkgd07E
