Technology in the Second Language Classroom: I Know Everything…Not so Much!

I have always had a love/hate relationship with technology.  I guess it would be more accurate to call it a love/trepidation relationship.  It is sort of like my relationship with change.  I both long for it and approach it cautiously, but in the end, I come to embrace it and am usually thankful for it.  When I read this blog,  the writer could have been addressing me directly.  He writes of the value and the empowerment that students experience with the use of technology.  Of course, one should not use technology just for the sake of technology:  it should have a purpose.  In the end, in second language learning, it is not just the sentence structure and verb tenses that need to be taught.  It is also important to give students other tools to be successful learners.
