Some people have overlapping senses.  For example, a sound may trigger a taste.  In music, this sometimes manifests itself as seeing different colors when hearing specific pitches.  This is a specific form of synesthesia called “chromesthesia.”  It is a fascinating phenomenon that some of the greatest musicians in history have possessed.
